One of the first decisions you will make is about what kind of ceremony you would like, but also what should and shouldn't be included.

Considerations

Inclusive of religious passages, hymns and language is optional. If you would like to include specific passages in the ceremony you can communicate this to the officiants and these will be included in the order of service.

You can choose to play your loved ones favourite music during the ceremony, whether this be a hymn, chart hit or soundtrack. These can be included in the order of service for a sing-a-long or can be posed as a moment of reflection.

Readings

Most services will include a reading from a member of the congregation as well as the officiant of the ceremony. These can be recitals or own-written passages.

Moment of Reflection

Many ceremonies will involve a moment of reflection, this could be during a photo slideshow with a piece of their favourite music, or simply listening to the song without the visual aide.

Order of Service

Typically, as a part of the order of service and previous communications about the ceremony, details of the wake location and timings will be included.
